Hot off winning the Queensland Futurity, Purcell Bale continued on her winning way, taking the opening heat in 29.71, over My Sweet Love and Xylia Allen. A well supported runner in early betting, Purcell Bale will again find plenty of support from punters in the final having drawn the coveted red alley.
Cawbourne Classy saluted in the second run off, pipping Dyna Jezabel on the line, making the most of the box one draw in the heat for trainer Anthony Lord.
Lagoon Lowanna continued a good weekend for Sharron Webster, notching up the third win at headquarters for the weekend for the Cawdor based trainer. Impressive in her victory, Lagoon Lowanna beat home Langi Bale which finished strongly in second after finding trouble early, and Scarlet Maid in third.
Well back Montana Izmir claimed the final qualifier, finishing the better over Cadence who battled strongly throughout the race. Montana Izmir continuing on her strong run of form at Wentworth Park, posting her third sub 29.90 second run within four weeks.
