Sharron Webster was overtaken with emotion following Lagoon Lowanna’s all the way performance in the Evans & Son Jewellers Ladies Bracelet (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night (May 4).
Cawdor based Webster, was full of praise for her champion sprinter and friends who continue to assist in preparing the kennel, following the victory.
Lagoon Lowanna’s win stopping the clock at 29.98, four lengths clear of runners up Montana Izmir and Xylia Allen.
Well supported in betting, the daughter of Where’s Pedro x Lagoon Smylee jumped smartly from box six and was never headed.
The emotional trainer overjoyed to have won the coveted Evans & Sons Ladies Bracelet, which was presented by long time friend and sponsor, Alan Evans.
Webster said it was fantastic to have finally won the event and that having the assistance of such great friends made the win so much better.
In a sensational night of racing, Anthony Meredith’s Serisier Street also went home with a stunning piece of Evans & Son Jewellers craftsmanship after winning the Evans & Son Jewellers Stayers non grade.
Wentworth Park now prepares for its 65 Red Roses meeting on Saturday, May 25, which will be held to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. The GRNSW initiative is already underway, with Wentworth Park set for their night to help the cause.
