Wentworth Park will host four heats of the 520m Group 2 Bob Payne Spring Sprint, this Saturday night (September 21).

With $40,000 up for grabs in the Saturday, September 28 Final, the heats have drawn a high calibre of runner, including National Champion Xylia Allen and NSW State Champion Zulu Zues.

First and second from each heat will progress to the final, with some classy greyhounds set to miss the Group 2 Final.

The opening qualifier features Golden Easter Egg placegetter, Cracker Jack Lil as well as in form Good Odds John. Mexico City and Electro Storm return to Wentworth Park after making their respective finals of the Group 1 Megastar and Group 3 Canberra Cup.

In the second heat National star, Xylia Allen returns to headquarters and meets kennelmate Schroder Bale, Canberra Cup and the $50,000 Goodsey bonus winner Zipping Willow and inaugural Ultra Sense winner Boris Fields. A sensational heat, which allows races goers to see the very best racing has to offer.

Race seven, the third run-off features third placegetter in last week’s Dapto Megastar, Priven Nitro as well as Wentworth Park specialist Watto Lotto. This race is set for a strong finish with the likes of Imry Bale and Watto Lotto to feature late.

The final heat see’s the return of NSW State Champion Zulu Zues. Drawing Box three, the powerful runner meets early speedsters Desalle Bale, Kobi Jay and Gold Town.

Named in honour of the late NSW GBOTA Chairman, Mr Bob Payne, this year’s series has drawn together a host of talented runners, with the racing on Saturday night set to be first class.

Gates open at 5.30pm and the first race of the night kicking off at 7.28pm. Patrons are encouraged to get trackside early with the Betfair Blue Paws Stayers Stakes over 720m starring Smart Valentino from box one.
