Participants and patrons are advised that with the Navy Fleet show in Sydney over this coming weekend, some road closures are expected to affect travel times to Wentworth Park.
Participants are encouraged to leave plenty of additional time, particularly if travelling across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, or using Western Distributor Freeway.
Road closures will have a minor effect on participants engaged on Friday, October 4, while those engaged in Saturday, October 5 should be prepared for significant delays.
Information sourced from the NSW Roads and Maritime Services websites, indicated trainers will be unable to travel along Pyrmont Bridge Road, Glebe between cross streets Wentworth Park Road and Wattle Street. As a result, the NSW GBOTA believe trainer which utilise the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Fish Markets off ramp will need to continue over the ANZAC bridge and turn left on to The Crescent, Annandale. If taking this route, drivers should remain in the left lane once on The Crescent and can then turn left on to Pyrmont Bridge Road or St John’s Road, Glebe. Both streets will enable drivers to follow to Wentworth Park Rd.
Trainers concerned can contact the NSW GBOTA to discuss, or consult the NSW Roads and Maritime Services website, www.rms.nsw.gov.au
Further, participants in races one to five are advised that Race Night Management will be liaising with trainers regarding known Firework displays which may impact upon Wentworth Park. Trainers’ cooperation in working with staff is appreciated to ensure minimal impact is encountered.
