South Coast prepared, Double Twist, electrified race goers on Saturday night (December 14) at Wentworth Park, taking out the Group 3 (520m) John Stollery Christmas Gift.

The Garry Edwards prepared chaser jumped the equal race favourite and thrilled onlookers as she chased down early leader Edge on the line, to stop the clock at 29.87 and claim the $25,000 winner’s purse.

Edwards who was emotional after the event was thankful to all involved, and pleased to see the star sprinter gain a Group Race victory.

In a race which had it all, consistent Wentworth Park sprinter, Edge, held out the fast away Electro Storm at the first turn to take up the early lead.

As the runners turned for home, Queenslander, Tee Brady set the challenge on Edge, before Double Twist jumped from the back to score in the final stride.

An honour for connections, owner Jason Lymbery, thanks Edwards for his hard work, and said it was an honour to win the John Stollery Christmas Gift in recognition of the late bookmaker and his wonderful family.
