Darren McDonald is on track to win his third Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg title, with Keybow setting the time standards in the 2014 heats at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.
Stopping the clock at 29.44 in an all of the way performance, the Perth Cup winner was one of two winners on the card for McDonald, who also had Dark Warrior win in the final qualifier.
The heats had a theme of the interstate raid on the title, with Dyna Nalin winning the opening event in 29.69, and Easton Bale, Warrior King, Ollie Bale and Buckle Up Wes all joining in the winning glory throughout the night.
NSW’s title hopes were kept alight with Iona Tokyo and Magic Display taking out heat two and nine respectively.
With the placegetters to progress to next Saturday’s four semi-finals, racing is again set to be at it’s best at Wentworth Park.
Racing will turn to the Sportingbet Magic Maiden series tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, with first race just before 6pm. With plenty of kids acitivities and more sensational racing, racing enthusiats and families are encouraged to get trackside.
