Ritza Hattie will be looking to score back to back Group 3 titles in Saturday’s (May 3), Alan Evans & Son Jewellers Ladies Bracelet, at Wentworth Park.

After scoring a tough 29.87 heat victory over Zipping Summah, Ritza Hattie’s box one draw in the final is likely to see her installed by bookmakers as race favourite for the $25,000 to the winner event.

With first and second progressing to the Saturday’s Final, the four qualifiers held on Saturday, April 26, saw some sensational racing in the bitches only series.

The opening heat went the way of Smashing Sally, which railed well in the home straight, to win in 29.97 over Rose Of Galo. Golden Easter Egg finalist Magic Display finished in third and will be second reserve for the final.

Ritza Hattie was forced to work hard for her win in the second run-off, with Zipping Summah setting a cracking early pace. Having not raced for over five months, Zipping Summah showed great determination to hold out Ritza Hattie for most of the run, with just under one length separating the pair at the finishing line. Ritza Hattie will be seeking her second Group 3 title in the space of just two weeks at Wentworth Park, after winning the ‘Ambrosoli’ on April 19 in a slashing 29.47.

Victorian prepared, Quick Succession, continued Darren McDonald’s good run of form at the Glebe circuit, winning the third heat in the fastest qualifying time of 29.80 over Irondale Bravo. McDonald will be looking to add another $25,000 to his Wentworth Park winner’s purse for 2014, which is already over $90,000 following last weekend’s Group 1 Association Cup and Listed Ultra Sense wins as part of the Golden Easter Egg carnival.

Jason Mackay’s, Zipping Willow, ensured the kennel had two qualifiers through to the final winning the final qualifier in 29.96, beating home Lacey Lois by 1 ¾ lengths.
