Tommy Brislane celebrated his second birthday in fine fashion, winning the fourth heat of the Bob Payne Spring Sprint (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night (September 20).

Jumping as cleanly as he did eight days prior in the Group 1 Dapto Megastar, Tommy Brislane, was swiftly away clocking 5.32 to the first mark, and stopping the overall clock at 29.64, ahead of Evil Punk and Crackerjack Dak.

Victorian Allen Deed was impressive in his first Wentworth Park outing, scoring a slashing 29.43 victory. Winning by over nine lengths ahead of Yogi Blue and Lucy Lips, Allen Deed shot away from his competitors down the back to carve out a hot 11.51 run home.

Mark Gatt’s Ritza Hattie, continued her good return to racing winning the third of the heats in 29.75. In a tight affair, Ritza Hattie was made to work for the victory with Rue De Kahn matching each stride throughout the 520m journey.

Asia’s Babe provided the upset of the series claiming the second heat in 29.88 over Hayden Hair and Ollie Bale. Race favourites Silent Effective and Lani Banarni both found trouble through out their runs, which allowed the Marie Burton prepared Asia’s Babe to capitalise and book a spot in next Saturday’s $40,000 to the winner final.
