The 2015 Golden Easter Egg series won’t leave race goers disappointed with a sensational ten race card set for Saturday night (March 21) at Wentworth Park.

In its 26th year, the Group 1, three week series continues to attract the highest calibre of nominations from across Australia with recent Australian Cup winner Luca Neveelk and Temlee winner My Bro Fabio among the A list names drawn. With $250,000 to go to the overall winner on Easter Saturday, April 4, the Golden Easter Egg remains one of the most sought after events in greyhound racing.

Saturday’s opening heat features Group 1 Ladbrokes Paws of Thunder winner Dyna Villa, drawn in box eight, where he won the January feature, Dyna Villa, is looking to bounce back to form after a string of seconds in recent starts. He meets NSW hopefuls Lani Banarni and Are Jai Que who can both offer early pace in the event.

After taking out the Group 2 Richmond Derby last Friday (March 13), Quasi Bale will line up from box one in the second heat. An even event, this heat also features in form Spacecraft and The Meadows track record holder Allen Deed.

Recent Rookie Rebel winner Cosmic Wise headlines heat four, drawing box four, while last start winners Zipping Carter (box three) and Whittaker (box seven) are drawn well to be competitive in the series.

Trainer of Zipping Carter, Jason Mackay said that he was pleased with the son of Mandagery Man x Pink Bandana’s most recent Wentworth Park start, when he clocked 29.64 and is now primed for the Golden Easter Egg series.

“He (Zipping Carter) went well last week, and he needed to draw inside, so box three gives him that chance,” Mackay said following the box draw.
