Despite More In Store running down Zipping Maggie in the opening Chairman's Cup heat on Saturday night, trainer Martin Hallinan is confident the reigning champion can go back to back.

Jumping from box eight in the first of the Group 3 qualifiers, heavily supported race favourite Zipping Maggie picked up early pace setter Ada Mary through the catching pen and looked to be in a handy position. It wasn't to be however for favourite backers with More In Store finishing too strongly.

Winning in 42.03, the Mark Gatt prepared More In Store will have to overcome another middle draw in next Saturday's (September 12), $25,000 to the winner final.

Zipping Maggie however has drawn box one next week, and trainer Martin Hallinan indicates that the daughter of Turanza Bale x Natalie Rass will be better for the heat hit out.

"We have had some set backs, but I expect Zipping Maggie to improve on tonight's run, and make the most of box one next week," Hallinan said.

Victorian runner Gangnam Style will also be looking to improve on his first look at the track, after qualifying for the final when finishing fourth behind More In Store.
