Ada Mary has claimed her first, and much deserved Group race title, taking out the Group 3 Sydney Cup in 42.43.
The renowned early leader was able to lead throughout off box eight, holding out a late challenge from former NSW runner Lithgow Panther, while Entreaty finished in third ahead of Mepunga Tiara.
A thrilled Sharon Grey, trainer of Ada Mary, said the victory was an absolute thrill for all involved, including owner Jason Bolwell.
"We couldn't be happier, it is just something special to see her win a big race," Grey said.
Grey who is based in the small Mid North inland town of Killabakh, four hours drive from Wentworth Park, is a real pleasure of the sport and has taken great enjoyment with the journey Ada Mary has provided.
