Boom youngster Kihael Kaluna will look to atone his Group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden loss in Saturday's final of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Vic Peters Classic (520m) at Wentworth Park.

The now Mark Gatt prepared runner started favourite in the April feature, but after getting caught in early traffic the son of Oaks Road x She's The Goodes was unable to feature in the placings. Six months on and Kihael Kaluna now has the opportunity to claim his first Group title.

Winning the second of Saturday's semi-finals, Kihael Kaluna was smartly away, leading throughout to score in 29.69 over the fast finishing Zambora Brockie, with just a nose separating the two in the end. Scoring the fastest qualifying time, Kihael Kaluna will jump from box three in this coming Saturday's $75,000 to the winner final.

April's Ladbrokes Magic Maiden winner Black Bear Lee also booked his way through to next week's final, winning by over six lengths in 29.95 over the well supported Nangar Flame. Black Bear Lee drawing box five in Saturday's final, the box from which the son of Brett Lee x Paua Of Love won the Group 3 Magic Maiden.  

In the opening semi-final Good Odds Ocker for Frank and Tracey Hurst scored a tough victory over Black's A Marble in 29.88.

While in the third qualifier it was the impressive Victorian Blazin' Bomber which showed why he was so heavily supported in betting, flashing home in a gigantic run over Explosive Madame.

Saturday's racing will also see a live performance from Sydney based artist CuzN  and Gala Dinner with ticket sales closing Tuesday, October 28 at 10am.
