Four heats of the Group 3 New Sensation were also run and won tonight, with Hunter Valley trainer Jason Mackay taking out time honours with Zipping Bruiser in heat one.

Stepping from box eight, this son of Don’t Knocka Him owned by Martin and Fiona Hallinan, streaked away to score by eleven lengths at the finish and recorded an impressive time of 29.92.

El Magnifico for Julie Fletcher was just as impressive in heat two when he also took advantage of the eight alley, saluting by three and half lengths in a smart time of 29.96.

Dean Swain took out heat three with Tilly’s Boy jumping beautifully from box one and lead from start to finish. Gapping his rivals by seven lengths in a time of 30.17, the victory was even more impressive as the Wentworth Park surface was heavily affected by rain.

The final heat went to favourite runner Megalodon for trainer Lynne Aldous, overcoming a tricky box five draw to score by three and a half lengths in a solid time of 30.18. This daughter of Glen Gallon notched up her fourth victory at the track from five starts.
