More In Store qualified fastest for next Saturday's (October 8) Group 3 Sydney Cup (720m) at Wentworth Park. 

Winning in 42.37 for in form trainer Mark Gatt, More In Store finished strongly in the second qualifier at Wentworth Park tonight (October 1), running down early leader Olivia Benson in the home straight. 

Gatt who trained a double on the card, will be hoping More In Store can get the kennel their first staying Group Race victory of 2016.

Miss Foxy Lee for Dean Swain took the opening heat in an all the way performance of 42.47. Backing up from her win at The Meadows' last Saturday night, Miss Foxy Lee utilised box one to perfection, leading throughout. 

Star Victorian stayer, Ring The Bell, was a strong first up performance, finishing second, while NSW aspirants Madliena Girl and Tanks Punk also qualified for the $25,000 Final.

In a big night at Wentworth Park, Thirlmere trainer Mark Gatt also took out the Warren Mundine Appreciation Stake with Ritza Rossi. Sitting close to the leaders in the back straight, Ritza Rossi was too strong in the home straight, clocking 29.90.

At the presentation, trainer Mark Gatt thanked Mr Mundine for his ongoing support of the greyhound industry. 

"I have seen you speak on a number of issues, and you talk a lot of common sense, we can't thank you enough," Gatt said of Mundine. 

In making the presentation, Warren Mundine AO said that he believed the industry had to keep fighting and applying the pressure to the government to overturn the ban. 

Other highlights of the night included a range of quality wins in the #cantheban 5th grade heats over 520metres.

5 year old Bessy Boo, who recorded win 42 from 144 starts in 30.26. 

Nangar Thunder opened the card in a heat of the 5th grade series with best of the night figures of 29.62. 

While Ando's Mac for Jason Mackay took out the October Ladbrokes Monthly Medal jackpot series, pocketing $8,000 thanks to Ladbrokes, in a dominant 29.66 performance. 

Next Saturday's $25,000 Ladbrokes Sydney Cup Final will set the stage at Wentworth Park, as the Glebe Circuit has a month of Group racing, with the Group 1 heats of the Ladbrokes Vic Peters to commence on October 15.
