The 2017 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg carnival will commence tonight, Wednesday, March 29 at Wentworth Park with nine heats of the Ladbrokes Magic Maiden. 

With first race at 7.08pm, the Group 3 series has long attracted some of Australia's best youngsters. 

Regular Magic Maiden attendees, David Pringle, Kim Hyde and Patrick Parrelli all align in heat seven. 

Watch The Wasp (box eight) a son of track record holder Shakey Jakey x Midnight News meets Kihael Koalmina (box seven) and Devine Rite (box one). 

One of another sensation Pringle litter, Watch The Wasp's sister Nellie Lost It broke the Bathurst 618m track record on Monday (March 24), which Watch The Wasp himself broke the Bathurst 450m record unofficially in his Performance Trial run on March 20. 



Following tonight's Group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden heats, Wentworth Park will play host to Australia's best sprinters, with 10 heats of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg on Saturday night, April 1. 

The first of the qualifiers goes at 7.48pm, with 2016 runner up Brad Hill Billy the first scratching of the series coming out of the opening heat. West Australian's Astrozone and Shell Shocked feature in this heat, meeting NSW runners Mack Tux and Eisenhower. 

Arguably the hottest of the heats is Race 6 (heat 5) which includes Australian Cup winner Fanta Bale, National Futurity winner Striker Light, plus a host of other talented runners.

Week two of the Carnival will see four semi finals of the Ladbrokes Magic Maiden and heats of the Group 3 New Sensation on Wednesday, April 5. Nominations for the New Sensation close on Monday, April 3 at 9am with GRNSW. The series is limited to runners with no more than 10 career race wins from 20 race starts, whelped on or after 31.12.2014. 

Saturday, April 8 will see four semi finals of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, heats of the Group 1 Association Cup (720m) and Listed Ultra Sense over 520m for 4/5th grade runners. The night, which aligns with the Championship Grandfinals at Royal Randwick will have free entry, with on course entertainment and the box draws to be undertaken for the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg and Association Cup. 

Racing will come to a crescendo on Saturday, April 15 with the two Group 1 finals, supported by three Group 3 and Ultra Sense finals. Trackside, patrons will have the opportunity to win $100,000 through the Golden Easter Egg safecrack (see details here). There will also be kids karts, jumping castle, photo booth, giveaways and more. Tickets are $10 per adult, children under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult.
