Prince Diablo has shaken up early markets following Saturday’s (September 17) 29.56 heat win in the Greyhound Recorded Paws of Thunder (520m).
The John Finn trained greyhound set the sizzling time standard for the series, over two tenths quicker than next fastest heat winner Fancy Dean (29.82).
The son of Premier Fantasy x Best Of Diablo continued his red hot form leading all the way in the 6 ¼ length victory over Allen Hertz, just one week after becoming the first greyhound to break the 30 second barrier at Canberra (530m).
Prince Diablo will line up in semi final four this Saturday night, September 24, gaining box three for the second week running.
“We’re really pleased with the draw, he just has to continue to jump like he has been,” Melinda Finn said following the box draw.
Prince Diablo will meet inform NSW State Nationals Sprint Champion Cold Fusion, which has drawn inside pace greyhounds; Wongawilli Wala, Dana Bel and Sienna’s Delight, in box four.
Saturday’s first race will go at 7.27pm, with the first of the Greyhound Recorder Paws of Thunder semi finals to go at 8.50pm. Gates will open at 5.30pm. Box draw for the four semi finals are as follows:
Saturday’s (September 17) meeting also saw Jonathan Shaw from the ACT win the James Boag Ice Chest after purchasing a bottle of James Boags at Friday’s meeting. The major prize draw for a $1,000 gift voucher at The Good Guys will be drawn on Saturday October 1, following the Greyhound Recorder Paws of Thunder Final.
