Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has conducted an urgent meeting with the NSW GBOTA to discuss deficiencies in the preparation of the Wentworth Park track surface, following the abandonment Wednesday night’s meeting.

Stewards were left with no choice but to abandon the meeting in its entirety after the track was found to be unsuitable for racing.

The curators are employed by the NSW GBOTA and are responsible for the preparation of the track surface and conducting the meeting.

GRNSW advise that the total prizemoney from the meeting will be distributed between trainers and owners who had a confirmed starter in each race at the affected meeting.

The money will be paid into the nominated bank account of each eligible trainer and owner. Monies paid will be based on prizemoney splits as outlined in the OzChase system.

Any trainer or owner who need to check payments have been made should contact GRNSW’s Finance department on 8767 0500.

Participants, fans of the sport and people who wager on greyhounds all expect and deserve a safe and suitable track surface to be prepared for every race meeting.

GRNSW is committed to addressing this issue and will be raising these concerns with the NSW GBOTA to determine what action will be taken to ensure that a safe and suitable racing surface is prepared for all future Wentworth Park meetings.
